SMS Opt-In Workflow

This page describes exactly how MySurveyMoney (operating as SurveyMoney) collects user consent to send SMS messages, what messages are sent, and how users can opt out.

1. Brand & Program Identification

SMS messages are sent by MySurveyMoney (short name: SurveyMoney), a mobile rewards platform where users earn cash and gift cards for completing surveys. Every message begins with the identifier "SurveyMoney:" so recipients always know who the sender is.

2. How & When Consent Is Collected

Consent is collected exclusively via the SurveyMoney mobile app(iOS & Android) during the phone-number verification step that occurs after account registration. No verbal, paper, or keyword opt-in methods are used.

  1. Account Registration — The user downloads the SurveyMoney app, enters their name and email address, and creates a password (or signs in via Google / Apple OAuth).
  2. Phone Verification Screen — After registration, the user is taken to the mandatory phone-verification screen. This screen cannot be skipped. The user enters their mobile phone number in E.164 format (e.g., +12125551234).

── Disclosure shown on the Phone Verification screen ──

By tapping "Send OTP", you agree to receive a one-time SMS verification code from SurveyMoney. After verification, you may receive transactional SMS notifications (e.g., payout confirmations, security alerts). Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help. View our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

  3. Affirmative Action = Consent — The user taps the green "Send OTP" button. This affirmative tap, combined with the disclosure text displayed directly above the button, constitutes explicit consent to receive the OTP and any subsequent transactional messages.
  4. OTP Delivery — SurveyMoney sends a single SMS containing a 6-digit one-time code via Twilio. Example message:
SurveyMoney: Your verification code is 482910. This code expires in 10 minutes. Reply STOP to opt out.
  5. Code Entry & Verification — The user enters the 6-digit code in the app. Upon successful verification the phone number is marked as confirmed and the user proceeds to the app.

3. Message Types & Frequency

  • OTP / Verification codes — 1 message per verification attempt, triggered only by the user.
  • Transactional notifications — Occasional messages for payout confirmations, security alerts, or account changes. Typically fewer than 5 messages per month.

SurveyMoney does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.

4. Standard Disclosures

Message and data rates may apply.

Message frequency varies (OTP on demand; transactional as needed).

To opt out, reply STOP to any SurveyMoney SMS at any time. You will receive one final confirmation message, then no further messages will be sent.
