This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address, password, and profile picture.
  • Phone number: collected for identity verification and to send transactional SMS messages (e.g., one-time passcodes, account alerts).
  • Survey responses: demographic information and answers you submit through the app.
  • Payment information: payout method details (PayPal email, bank account details, etc.) when you request a withdrawal. We do not store full payment credentials on our servers.
  • Referral information: referral codes you share or redeem.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device identifiers, operating system, and app version.
  • IP address and approximate geographic location.
  • App usage data (screens visited, features used, time spent).
  • Push notification tokens (Expo push tokens).

2.3 Information from Third Parties

If you register or log in using Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider in accordance with your privacy settings on that platform.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To send you surveys matched to your demographic profile and process reward payments.
  • To verify your identity and prevent fraud.
  • To send transactional SMS messages, including one-time passcodes (OTPs) and account security alerts.
  • To send push notifications about new surveys, rewards, and account activity (only if you grant permission).
  • To process referral bonuses.
  • To improve and personalise the Service through analytics.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

4. SMS / Text Message Communications

4.1 Opt-In

By providing your mobile phone number and completing the in-app phone verification step, you expressly consent to receive transactional SMS text messages from SurveyMoney sent via short code or long code. These messages include, but are not limited to, one-time passcodes (OTPs) required to verify your phone number and access your account.

Message frequency varies based on account activity. Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier plan.

4.2 Opt-Out (STOP)

You may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any SMS sent by SurveyMoney. You will receive a final confirmation message and no further texts will be sent. Note that opting out of transactional OTP messages may prevent you from verifying your account.

4.4 Supported Carriers

SMS messaging is supported by most major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost, and others. Carrier support may vary.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Survey providers: anonymised or aggregated demographic data to match you with relevant surveys.
  • Payment processors: PayPal and other payout providers, solely to process your withdrawal.
  • SMS providers: Amazon SNS and similar carriers to deliver OTP and transactional messages.
  • Analytics providers: aggregated, non-identifying data for product improvement.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights of SurveyMoney and its users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial record-keeping purposes.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

9. Your Rights
